This is the checker for the 7 shot Model 986 Revolver chambered in 9MM.
The cartridge openings were cut using a chamber reamer to a minimum dimension.
The openings are tapered and are an exact fit for the 9x19 cartridge.
This is used to check your moon clip without putting live ammunition into the chamber.
If the loaded moon clip fits in this checker, it will fit in your gun!

It looks good and does what it's supposed to do. You can check all your loaded clips in seconds without having to fool around trying to load them into your gun. Load them up and check them out at home and you will avoid wasted time and disappointment at the range,

Not sure I needed this?
I am new to revolvers so after I figured out moon clips and the moon clip loader, I saw this product. Not sure why I needed it and it is not inexpensive, but now that I have it and know that all my loaded moon clips fit, I feel a lot better going out to the range. Well made and of course, easy to use. GM- it removes the question "will my moon clip go in and seat perfectly" !!
