It will remove the smaller diameter rounds such as 9 MM, & 38/357 Magnum.
This unloader fits correctly so that you are not bending the moon clip. It is a short tube and all 7 unloaded 9 MM rounds will fit in it.

Skinny enough to fit easily between cases 8-round moon clips. Works perfectly! George makes a longer one that holds 8 rounds, but I like this shorter one & do 4 at a time.

Excellent Tool
This tool is easy to use and works great to unload 7-round 9mm moon clips for the S&W M986 revolver. Just slip the tube over the cartridge or fired case, rotate it and the case pops right out of the clip.

Turns a chore into a pleasure
This tube unloader should be standard equipment for anyone using a revolver. You can either try to pry each cartridge off the clip, or simply twist the unloader, and the cartridge pops right off. Would purchase again; might even give one as a gift. Love it.

Easy Out
This is the first unloader I found that is narrow enough to slip in between the loaded cases easily on my 7 shot S&W 986 revolver. Works very easy. I would make one recommendation though, to make the metal tube longer to accommodate all 7 (or even 8) rounds in case you want to unload unfired (longer) cartridges for any reason. I worked around this by pulling the plastic grip down about 1 3/4 inch to essentially extend the overall length, but it would be nice to have the rigid metal tube longer to start with. Overall, very pleased with the way it works. GM-This is the ONLY tool that works on 7 shot moon clips period.
